Discover Seiki: Life Living Life
Welcome to the world of Seiki—an art of healing and self-renewal that awakens Life’s vitality and promise within you. Seiki-jutsu (pronounced “say-key”) translates as “The Art of the Vital Life Force”, and is an ancient Japanese somato-shamanic practice that invites you to experience spontaneous movement, deep presence, and the wisdom inherent in the body. Rooted in ancient tradition yet accessible to everyone, Seiki differs from other practices and modalities like yoga, tai chi, or reiki in that there are no rigid forms, no techniques to master, and no set routines. Instead, Seiki invites you to let go of effort and expectation, allowing the natural current of life to move you and move through you, connecting you to your innate vitality through Life’s relational ecology.

The Three Gateways of Seiki
The three gateway of Seiki practice and embodiment—Seiki transmission (Seiki jutsu 生気術), daily practice or Seiki exercises (Seiki taisō 生気体操), and Seiki therapy (Seiki ryōhō 生気療法)—do not form a fixed sequence or linear path. Instead, they exist in a living, recursive relationship: you can enter Seiki at any point, and each gate naturally leads into and transforms the others. This nonlinear, circular, and ever-iterative process is marked by foldings, returns, and continual deepening, much like the rhythms of nature itself. Transmission awakens the vital current within; daily Seiki body movements become a spiral of nourishment, spontaneity, and attunement; and Seiki therapy not only offers healing but gently softens and opens the body, preparing you to receive and embody Seiki more fully. In all three, attunement is the thread—inviting you to listen and align to your inner and outer experience, to respond to subtle shifts, and to reawaken the wisdom that already resides within you. The Seiki path is a living, dynamic process—one that you can begin, revisit, and deepen in any moment from any of the gateways.

Seiki-jutsu - 生気術 - Seiki Transmission
Seiki transmission is a living paradox; at once an awakening and a remembering, a giving and a receiving, an energy that springs from within yet arrives as if carried by a gentle wind from the world around us. To receive Seiki is to be vitalized by a current that feels wholly new, yet uncannily familiar: an enlivening presence that stirs in the depths of your being, and yet is brought forth through the hands, breath, and quiet attention of another.
This transmission does not impose, instruct, or force; rather, it invites. It is less a learning and more like waking from a long sleep, suddenly alive to the vibrant undercurrents of your own existence. The practitioner becomes an open channel, attuned to the rhythms of nature and the subtle field of life itself, creating the conditions for Seiki to flow. In this meeting, something ancient and interior is remembered, reawakened by the gentle touch or shared silence that bridges inner and outer worlds.
To be touched by Seiki is to rediscover what has always been there: Life’s innate wisdom, the pulse of vitality that animates both body and spirit. It is as if a doorway swings open and a breeze fills the room: the world becomes brighter, sensations deepen, and your body begins to move, sway, or breathe with a freedom that feels both newly discovered, yet also newly remembered. Seiki transmission is an invitation to reignite, to awaken, to enliven, and to embody the living energy that connects us to ourselves, to each other, and to the great web of life. In this way, Seiki is a shared field; a mystery that cannot be owned or held, but only entered. It is the art of recognizing that what is given is, paradoxically, what has always been yours.

Seiki-taiso - 生気体操 - Seiki Exercises
Seiki-taisō is not merely a set of seated exercises, but a living improvisational practice where movement, breath, and touch become three interwoven threads, creating a tapestry of healing and discovery. At its heart, Seiki-taisō invites you to enter into a dance with your own life force, listening for the first stirrings of a sway, a breath, or the invitation of touch, and letting each unfold in its own time.
The first thread is movement; a natural, undulatory swaying or swinging that arises without effort, like reeds in the wind or waves meeting the shore. This is not a movement you perform, but one that finds you, gently rocking your spine, and indeed, your whole being, allowing for the awakening of dormant pathways of vitality and joy.
The second thread is breath; the continually animating rhythm of respiration - sometimes silent and subtle, sometimes deep and sounding. As you follow the currents of movement, the breath naturally aligns, amplifying and modulating its quality and expression. Breath may emerge as a sigh, a whisper, or a song, giving voice to what the body knows but cannot say in words.
The third thread is touch and gesture. Starting with the gentle simplicity of your hand resting on your body, or perhaps the supportive contact of another, touch in Seiki is not about grasping, manipulation, or control, instead it is attunement, like a musician attending to the precise tension in a string. With touch, the undulating movement and living breath become more coherent, more resonant, more deeply felt.
These three foundational expressions of movement, breath, and touch do not operate in isolation, but cross-inform and enrich one another. Sometimes, a simple sway draws forth a deeper breath; a resonant breath awakens new movement; a gentle touch tunes the whole body like the strings of an instrument, each adjustment rippling through the field of sensation. With experience, these elements layer and echo, creating complex iterations; expressions of movement, bursts of sounding, waves of healing touch coming forward as a play of intricate polyrhythms, improvising in perfect attunement.

Seiki-ryōhō- 生気療法 -Seiki Therapy
Seiki-ryōhō, or Seiki therapy, is a gentle yet profound art of healing that can be experienced lying down, sitting, or even standing. Each posture invites its own subtle dialogue with gravity and the life force, allowing the body to soften, listen, and receive in the way it needs most. In Seiki Therapy, there are no rigid methods or forceful manipulations. Instead, the practitioner offers attuned touch and quiet presence, holding space for the body’s wisdom to surface. Through this shared field of attention, tensions unravel, breath deepens, and movement may arise spontaneously.
Seiki-ryōhō is more than a therapy for symptoms; it is a ritual of preparation. The softening that occurs opens the body to greater receptivity, making it possible to receive the deeper transmission of Seiki. Like tuning an instrument, Seiki Therapy brings one’s whole being into resonance, preparing the ground for spontaneous movement, renewal, and the improvisational play that follows. Whether as a stand-alone session or as the gateway to other Seiki practices, Seiki-ryōhō offers a sanctuary for rest, a threshold for transformation, and an invitation to return to the fullness of your living vitality.

A Path Without Beginning: The Nonlinear Nature of Seiki
The three aspects of Seiki—transmission, practice, and therapy—exist in a circular, endlessly unfolding relationship, defying any fixed order or hierarchy. They are a cybernetic form. It is a chicken-and-egg paradox: which comes first? Where does one begin on a circle? In truth, each aspect is both gateway and ground, opening onto the others and continually nourishing the whole. Traditionally, in the Japanese style, a formal transmission was seen as the foundational entry point, but Seiki’s deeper reality is more mysterious and generous. Sometimes spontaneous movement or the gentle contact of therapy awakens the current within; other times, a simply expressed improvised movement or a breath brings forth a living transmission. There is no single path, only the ever-present invitation to step through whichever gate is open to us in the ever unfolding moment. Each doorway leads to the next, and all are necessary, endlessly returning, folding, and transforming each other in the living spiral of Seiki.

The Seiki dōjō - (道場) : A place of cultivation
The Seiki dōjō is not a merely a space of practice or a performative venue, but a living and spirited place of attunement, alignment, and and a sense of right-relation. In Japanese, dōjō literally means “the place of the Way” (dō 道 — the Way; jō 場 — place), a practice hall dedicated to cultivation rather than achievement. Traditionally, in the martial arts dōjōs of Japan, the dōjō was never only about technique, it was a place to shape character, hone attention, and to seek a living truth.
In the Seiki dōjō, this same spirit is carried forward. At times the dōjō is a physical room—tatami, benches, shared breath and movement. At other times it is virtual, unfolding across distance through shared intention, presence, and practice. In both forms, the dōjō remains a place of cultivation: not only for the specific practices of Seiki, but for the broader art of living with sensitivity, vitality, and care.
Shared practice is essential. Seiki is not learned in isolation, but through relationships. Through being seen, felt, and moved together. The dōjō becomes a resonant field where individual practice is strengthened by collective attention, and where the living lineage of Seiki, and a relation to that which is ancestral, is honored; not as a static inheritance, but as something actively embodied and renewed each time people gather. In this way, the Seiki dōjō remains rooted and alive: grounded in tradition, sustained by lineage, nourished by our efforts and continually being shaped by the present moment.
